Choir FAQs

Choir FAQs

Here are the answers to all the questions we could think of that you might have regarding choir. However, if you don't find what you need here, feel free to email Pastor Jeff and he will do his best to help you.

/files/Images/Worship/100_0886_Resized_252x190.jpgWhat sort of people are in the choir?

The fun sort... and they are all from different walks of life.  Some are young, some are...mature, some are tall and others vertically challenged.

Do I have to audition?

No.  However, a rigorous verbal test will be administered that consists of three carefully selected questions.  Your answers will determine your placement and ultimate success level in this motley bunch.  Currently the questions are;  "What is your name?"  "What part do you think you sing?" and "Are you willing to repent of your coffee drinking habits?"  To be accepted as a choir member, you must answer two out of three correctly.

Do I have to be able to read music?

No.  Rehearsals are for rehearsing (profound, yes?) and are used for learning the music in whatever way required.  If you can tell up from down, then you can sing in choir.  (Hint:  find someone who can read music and strategically place yourself next to them)

Is there childcare available?

Absolutely.  Of course, just remember to take them home with you.

What is the commitment level?

Some people join choir all year round.  Others join just for the Christmas or Easter season.  Still others join just for half a season.  There is no condemnation for those with limited time in their lives.

Does the choir have fun together?

Just follow the laughter you hear in the sanctuary on Wednesday nights and see for yourself.
